Meet the Team Behind Chef & Coffee

Chef Jeffrey Harris

Founder

Three-time James Beard nominated Chef Jeffrey Harris came to call Cincinnati home in 2005, after growing up in the famously flavorful city of New Orleans. A Hurricane Katrina transplant, Chef Jeff quickly acclimated to life in the Queen City and worked his way through top Cincinnati restaurants before opening his first concept in 2021, Jimmie Lou's - an ode to his beloved grandmother. In 2022 Nolia Kitchen was born on the corner of Clay and 14th and took the city by storm with an experimental flair to southern cuisine the likes of which Cincinnati had not yet experienced. Both Chef Jeff and Nolia went on to collect numerous awards and accolades as the years progressed and Chef Jeff used this new-found publicity as an opportunity to pour back into the city that welcomed him so fondly, and uplift the community in any way he knew how. 

Through the pandemic, the hospitality industry was hit hard and with both restaurants and individual culinary professionals struggling, Chef Jeff took the initiative to create a space for the chef and

chef-adjacent community to gather.

In November of 2024, Chef & Coffee was born. 

Chef Ali Crowdus

Coordinator

A Northern Kentucky native, Chef Ali Crowuds has spent her life deeply rooted in midwest hospitality. Fifteen years into her chef career, an unfortunate car accident changed the trajectory of her life and pulled her out of the kitchen on a large scale, pushing her into operations. Now working as a consultant for small food businesses through her consultancy, The People's Kitchen, Chef Ali is passionate about supporting the chefs, makers, and industry-at-large using her years of experience, creativity, and robust network of resources.

Chef Ali and Chef Jeff's worlds collided over Cucumber Gezpacho and they quickly found a mutual love for being of service - and the rest is history.

Chef Ali manages the logistics for the monthly meet-ups, the Mental Health Support Program, and supports Chef Jeff's ideas for growth and impact.
